Changes of E-Rosette Formation of T-Lymphocyte in Stored Blood

Abstract
|
|
|
The sequential changes of hematological pictures and E-rosette formation of
T-lymphocytes hocytes during the storage of whole Blood with acid citrate dextrose
solution at 4℃ were studied. The results obtained were as follows.
1. Erythrocyte count, hemoglobin and hematocrit valuers did not significantly change
during the storage for 20 days.
2. Marked decrease of platelet and leukocyte counts were noted during the early
stages of stowage period.
3. Absolute lymphocyte count began to decrease from the 12th day of storage, and to
reach 50% on the 20th day.
4. The ability to form E-rosette of both total and active form declined rapidly during
the first 5 days an4 totally disappeared on the 20th day of storage.
The changes of E-rosette formation rate in stored blood might be ascribed to
degeneration of T-lymptocyte.
